Doorman started because the Shopify community kept asking the same question: why has my abandoned-cart list gone sideways? The answer, increasingly, is bots — abandoned-checkout bots, scraper bots, fraud bots — initiating fake checkouts that pollute your recovery flows, misfire your pixel, and lock up your inventory.

Existing tools either operate at the edge (DNS-level blocking, which is too coarse) or downstream of checkout (which is too late). Doorman runs at the Shopify checkout layer specifically, so legitimate merchants can finally see what's actually happening on their storefront.
